The Old Dominion Hounds Point-to-Point Races are one of the premier steeplechase events on the Virginia spring racing circuit. Now in their 51st year, the races take place at historic Ben Venue Farm, nestled between Flint Hill and Washington in the heart of Rappahannock County. Ten races are contested over hurdles, timber, and flat courses, sanctioned by the National Steeplechase Association (NSA) with over $80,000 in total purses — making the ODH meet widely regarded as the most lucrative point-to-point on the Virginia circuit. The event draws thousands of spectators who set up elaborate tailgates along the course, enjoy Virginia hunt country hospitality, and watch world-class jump racing against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Founded in 1924, the Old Dominion Hounds hunt club has deep roots in Rappahannock and Fauquier counties, and the annual races are a beloved spring tradition that brings together the equestrian community, local residents, and visitors from across the Mid-Atlantic.
