A large open upland meadow at Skyline Drive milepost 51, ringed by gravel walking trails and wooded side paths, and the site of the park's Harry F. Byrd Sr. Visitor Center, lodge, campground, and camp store. It is one of the park's prime wildlife-viewing areas.
