Monticello

Thomas Jefferson's neoclassical mountaintop plantation house, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with guided house tours, restored gardens and the Mulberry Row slavery interpretation. The visitor center at the base of the mountain runs shuttles to the summit, and July 4 brings a 60-plus-year-old naturalization ceremony on the West Lawn.
