G. Richard Thompson Wildlife Management Area

A 4,000-acre state wildlife management area straddling the Blue Ridge crest, mostly in Fauquier with small extensions into Warren and Clarke. Seven miles of the Appalachian Trail cross it, along with old woods roads, and 10-acre Lake Thompson offers fishing.
