Rappahannock Historical Society & Museum

A museum, library and gift shop at 328 Gay Street in one of the county's oldest brick buildings, originally an outbuilding for Thorn's Tavern and later the county Treasurer's Office, a law office, a doctor's office, a girls' school and a telephone exchange. Holdings include photographs, documents, furniture, clothing and tools; the society offers genealogical and property-history research. Open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 to 5.
