James Monroe's Highland

The 535-acre estate of the fifth U.S. president, now a working farm and museum owned by William & Mary. Tours cover an 1818 guest house, an 1850s expansion and a Victorian-era farmhouse, plus archaeology that reidentified the original Monroe dwelling.
