A seven-acre re-creation of a 19th-century Shenandoah Valley farming community with relocated and restored buildings — two houses, a school, a barn, a blacksmith shop, and the circa-1825 Elk Run Dunkard Church that served as a Civil War barracks and still bears soldiers' graffiti. The adjoining Luray Valley Museum covers pre-contact Native American history, frontier settlement, the colonial iron industry, and the Civil War through 1920.
